Season Ends for Asher Demme of Bluefield

The news is bad in Bluefield. The Orioles have lost the services of starting pitcher Asher Demme for the rest of the season due to a torn rotator cuff. Demme was injured in a recent game with the Auburn Doubledays while throwing a pitch and is expected to miss 7 months.

Camp Tosses No-Hitter Against Staten Island

The Auburn Doubledays had a lot to celebrate as 24-year-old hurler Rusty Camp no-hit the Staten Island Yankees at Falcon Park.
In an impressive outing that keyed the 5-0 Doubledays victory, Camp had 8 strikeouts and surrendered 2 walks.
"He mixed his pitches well and hit his spots, plus he got a little help from above," said Auburn manager Manny Roman. "Rusty really took it to another level today."
