Hitting Streak Still Alive for Oostermeer Wednesday, July 28th , 2032 Xander Oostermeer ran his hitting streak to 20 straight games today at The MuckPit, when he collected 1 hit in 4 at-bats. The feat came, however, as the Dutchess County Channel Cats dropped the game, 6-5, to the Squirrel Hill Pirates. "Hey, the streak is great -- I hope it never ends," Oostermeer said later. "But I'm not happy to lose the game." Xander Oostermeer flied out in the 1st, struck out in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th and flied out in the 8th. Hitting .322 to date, Oostermeer has 14 home runs and 57 RBIs. He has played in 97 games. |
