Consecutive-Game Hit Streak Continues for Gilbert Friday, July 16th , 2032 Evan Gilbert, right fielder for the Brevard County Manatees, ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 25 games with 1 hit in his club's 9-6 victory today over the Tofield Braves at Pokey Reddick Park today. "Not the outcome we wanted," Tofield manager Jeff Sawyer said. "There's never a good time to lose, and it's never fun to be on the wrong end of somebody else's accomplishment." Evan Gilbert flied out in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, struck out in the 6th and grounded out in the 9th. Gilbert is hitting .367 this season with 26 home runs, 96 RBIs and 75 runs scored. He has 127 hits in 346 at-bats. |
