Hit Streak Now at 20 for Gilbert Sunday, July 11th , 2032 Evan Gilbert ran his hitting streak to 20 straight games today at iField @ Berkshire Hathaway Park, when he collected 1 hit in 4 at-bats. The feat came, however, as the Brevard County Manatees dropped the game, 3-2, to the Miami Matadors. "Hey, the streak is great -- I hope it never ends," Gilbert said later. "But I'm not happy to lose the game." Evan Gilbert grounded out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Ernesto Santos in the 8th. Gilbert is presently hitting at a .366 pace with 23 home runs, 88 RBIs and has scored 71 times. |
