Jets Paredes Sizzles with Cycle Thursday, May 13th , 2032 Getting 5 hits is a good day by any measure, but when those include a single, double, triple and a home run -- that's something special. José Paredes's day was a special one. The second baseman hit for the cycle to spark the Johnstown Jets to a 15-3 victory over the Charlotte Webs at The Castle of Kansas City today. Johnstown manager Jorge Posada said he thought the whole lineup looked good in batting practice, but had not been expecting anything extraordinary from Paredes in particular. "José caught me by surprise today," the skipper said. "He looked good before the game, but man, he looked unbelievable during it." For the day, Paredes finished with 8 runs batted in and 4 runs scored to go with his 5 hits. José Paredes hit a solo-shot off Sergio Olvera in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a three-run triple in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Ángel Hernández in the 8th.
