Thursday, May 13th , 2032
The Squirrel Hill Pirates fell to the Emerald Wizards in The Enforcer Grounds today, even as 18-year-old first baseman Rob Ross upped his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games. Ross finished with 2 hits in 3 at-bats, but could not stop the Pirates from dropping the 13-7 decision.
"Yeah, I kept my streak going, but it would have been better to come away with a win," said Ross. Rob Ross hit a two-run home run off DimiĆ£o Golias in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, walked in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th.
This season Ross is swinging the bat at a .461 pace. He has hit 10 home runs and scored 33 times, while driving in 33. His on-base percentage is .548 and he has played in 27 games.
