Kemmisville's Ratzlaff Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits Monday, May 3rd , 2032 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-6 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Bill Ratzlaff, it came around today. The 17-year-old third baseman scattered hits all over Pete Rose Field to pace the Kemmisville Wieners to a 16-8 victory over the Norwalk Narwhals. Norwalk skipper Ryan Hawblitzel told reporters in the press room that "Ratzlaff deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Ratzlaff hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Bill Ratzlaff singled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 8th. Ratzlaff is batting at a .411 pace this season, picking up 39 hits in 95 at-bats with 7 home runs, 30 RBIs and 25 runs scored. View Boxscore |
