López Parks 3 for Eureka Wednesday, April 21st , 2032 Eureka Guardians left fielder Miguel López put on a dazzling display of power today at Sportman's Park against the Nahanni Valley Wolves. In the 17-9 Guardians victory López penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts. "He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Nahanni Valley manager Owen Conner said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well." Along with his three home runs, the 20-year-old had 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," López said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today." Miguel López hit a two-run home run off Brendan Tinter in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Brendan Tinter in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Ethan Graves in the 5th, walked in the 5th and flied out in the 7th. López has a .448 average and a .568 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 13 hits, 7 home runs and driven in 14 runs. |
