Carlos Avalos Lost for Season Thursday, April 15th , 2032 The doctors have spoken and Carlos Avalos of the Rural Retreat Tsunami didn't like what he heard. The 17-year-old first baseman is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Avalos sustained his season-ending injury during the Kauai Chiefs game yesterday at Roberto Clemente Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while running the bases. Today the Rural Retreat medical staff reported Avalos had a torn posterior cruciate ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 10 months. So far this year in 8 games Avalos is hitting .200 with 1 home run, 5 RBIs and 6 runs scored. |
