José Guerra Chosen FORD's Best Player
Monday, October 27th , 2031
At the age of 18, José Guerra of the Inverness Highlanders could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2031 was good enough to win the second baseman the Ford Conference Outstanding Hitter Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .345 batting average this year, as well as a .446 on-base percentage. He played 139 games and racked up 174 hits, 51 doubles, 7 triples, 6 home runs, 71 RBIs and 111 runs scored.
He received 12 first place votes out of a possible 32. Tony Quezada of the Whistler Avalanche finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while Bernardo Báez of the British Columbia Lumberjacks finished third with 8 first place votes.
