Wildcard Round Goes the Distance, Inverness Prevails Sunday, September 14th , 2031 The Inverness Highlanders and Squirrel Hill Pirates held nothing back in an entertaining Wildcard Round that went the distance. In the end, it will be Inverness advancing to the Division Championship, after a 9-7 triumph in the final game at The Enforcer Grounds, to wrap up the series 2-1. The Highlanders players celebrated jubilantly in their clubhouse after the game, while the scene was one of dismay on the opposing side for the Pirates. Teika Kitamura was named series MVP for Inverness. For the series, Kitamura hit .385 with a .467 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 6 runs. The Inverness Highlanders will play against the British Columbia Lumberjacks in the next round. British Columbia had a bye in the Wildcard Round.
