Thompson on Fire: 5-for-5 for Fort Myers Sunday, August 1st , 2004 It was a parade of hits for Will Thompson of the Fort Myers Miracle at Hammond Stadium. Connecting almost every time he went to the plate, Thompson finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His strong individual effort propelled the Miracle to a win, 9-1. "Thompson was really good and we were really bad," groaned Warthogs manager Tom Warner. "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him." Will Thompson hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th. So far this year, Thompson has hit .276 with 7 home runs, 27 RBIs and 27 runs scored. |
