3-Homer Hat Trick for Holmes Thursday, June 24th , 2032 Yorktown first baseman Andy Holmes blasted three homers today at Eck Stadium in the 15-3 Patriots victory over the Cathedral Panthers. For the game, Andy Holmes scored 3 times and knocked in 6 runs. When he hit his last home run, his teammates, hearing the crack of the bat, leaped off the bench and rushed on the field to greet the jubilant Holmes when he reached home plate. "It was just one game, but it sure was a lot of fun -- 4-for-4, three roundtrippers and a win," a gleeful Holmes told BNN reporters in a postgame interview. "What a day." Andy Holmes hit a three-run home run off Hong-yeol Kim in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Hong-yeol Kim in the 3rd, singled in the 4th and hit a solo-shot off J.J. Poindexter in the 6th. During the current season Holmes is batting at a .339 clip with 21 home runs and 52 RBIs. He has played in 63 games and scored 43 times. |
