At Joe Nathan Field today, van Gerrevink showed how well he learned that lesson. The 16-year-old second baseman had 5 hits in 6 at-bats for the Huntington Beach Sharks, helping his team knock off the West Morris Wolfpack by a score of 8-4. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today."
