Panthers End Rodríguez's Streak
Friday, July 20th , 2029
It was the best of both worlds for the Cathedral Panthers today at Safeco Field, as they defeated the El Toro Elephants 2-1 and also snapped Marcos Rodríguez's 22-game hitting streak. The 16-year-old El Toro first baseman failed to get a hit in 3 at-bats.

"Nothing personal against Rodríguez, we just wanted to win the game," said Panthers skipper Richard Flannery. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."

When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Rodríguez frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."

Currently Rodríguez is batting .391 with 8 home runs and 54 RBIs.
