Ragin' Cajuns End Thompson's Streak Saturday, May 8th , 2032 Tulsa right fielder Kelsey Thompson came into today's game against the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns on a hot streak. He left on a cold one. The Ragin' Cajuns did their jobs well, beating the Tulsa Golden Hurricane 13-2 and holding Thompson hitless to snap his 28-game hitting streak. The 19-year-old right fielder had a few words to say after finishing 0-for-3, telling reporters only that he "came up short." "What Kelsey did was exciting and quite an achievement," said Golden Hurricane manager Desi Relaford. "It's tough enough to get one hit in this league, much less go 28 games in a row. I'm even more proud of the way he handled the press coverage. He never let the frenzy get to him or affect his play." Thompson's current batting average stands at .375 and he has chalked up 4 home runs and 14 RBIs. |
