Cavero Belts Bunch of Base Hits
Friday, September 2nd , 2005
Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the Yakima's 4-3 win over Ogden, center fielder Edgar Cavero was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at Yakima County Stadium.
"To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Cavero said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close."
Edgar Cavero hit a solo-shot off Ramon Sanchez in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
In 68 games this season, Cavero is batting .235 with 56 hits and 10 home runs. He has scored 27 runs and driven in 26.
