Travis Wood Sidelined for Season
Thursday, September 1st , 2005
The doctors have spoken and Travis Wood of the Great Falls Dodgers didn't like what he heard. The 18-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Wood sustained his season-ending injury during the Eugene Emeralds game yesterday at Legion Field. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Great Falls medical staff reported Wood had a ruptured ulnar collateral ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 10-11 months.

Thus far this season, Wood has worked 62 innings with 47 strikeouts en route to a 2-4 record and a 4.50 ERA.
