Burkett Twirls 8-0 Shutout Tuesday, August 9th , 2005 Billings Mustangs hurler John Burkett was at his best as he beat the Great Falls Dodgers, 8-0. "He just kept the ball down, did a good job, made his pitches," said Great Falls manager Matt Tiemann. "We didn't do a good job making adjustments, so we helped him out a little bit." Burkett, who leads the NORW in quality starts with 9, fired a 3-hitter and totaled 1 strikeout and 1 walk in the shutout performance. Thus far this season, Burkett has worked 83 innings with 51 strikeouts en route to a 10-0 record and a 1.08 ERA. |
