Blalock 5-for-6 for Ogden
Wednesday, June 29th , 2005
Jake Blalock exploded for a barrage of base hits at Lindquist Field.
The Ogden first baseman had a field day in his team's 10-6 triumph over the Pulaski Rangers, finishing 5-for-6.
"My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch."
Blalock must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Jake Blalock hit a solo-shot off Jose Flores in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Carlos Contreras in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.
Blalock is currently batting .395 with 4 home runs and 9 RBIs.
