Injury Sidelines Corey Maldonado For Year
Monday, August 2nd , 2004
The doctors have spoken and Corey Maldonado of the Vancouver Canadians didn't like what he heard. The 23-year-old right fielder is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Maldonado sustained his season-ending injury during the Ogden Raptors game yesterday at Lindquist Field. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while running the bases. Today the Vancouver medical staff reported Maldonado had a torn meniscus and would be absent from the lineup for at least 4-5 months.

Thus far this year, Maldonado has hit .266 with 3 home runs and 11 RBIs.
