Dove King of Fling with No-Hitter Tuesday, July 26th , 2005 Shane Dove of the Visalia Oaks was the King of the Hill at Lake Olmstead Stadium. The Visalia starter dominated the Augusta GreenJackets, giving up zero hits in his 2-0 victory. "The toughest part was the last couple of innings," Dove recounted after the game. "You know you have a no-hitter going, and so does everybody in the ballpark. That was the hard part, keeping focused and concentrating while your heart is pounding." Dove, who leads the MIDW in complete games with 1, recorded 11 strikeouts and 4 walks in the game. This year, Dove has collected no saves. In all he has made no relief appearances, thrown 65.2 innings, struck out 69 and walked 26. His record shows 2 wins and 6 losses with a 3.97 earned run average. |
