Shelley Duncan Named Best CARL Batter in July Monday, August 1st , 2005 High Desert Mavericks fans may just have witnessed a star player blossoming before their eyes in July. Shelley Duncan put up a remarkable month at the age of 25 and has been named the Carolina League Batter of the Month. For the month, Duncan hit .358 with 11 home runs, 30 RBIs and 32 runs scored. This year, Duncan is hitting .343 with 31 home runs and 93 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .455 clip and scored 88 runs. |
