5-for-6 Game for Wilder
Thursday, July 22nd , 2032
James Madison catcher Will Wilder had a fantastic day at the plate at Jay Bergman Field today, knocking out 5 hits and pacing his club to a 15-2 victory.

"It was like I was hitting Little League pitching," Wilder said after his 5-for-6 performance against the Tigers. "No offense meant to Cocoa, but it was like I was back in little league again -- I could see the ball that well. But this wasn't a kid park, it was Jay Bergman Field."

After the game, his manager elaborated on the catcher's improvements, saying Wilder spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball.

"That's what I'm trying to do," Wilder said. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it."

Will Wilder singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th.

This season Wilder has hit at a .230 clip with 35 RBIs, 5 home runs and 26 runs scored.
