Barton 5-for-5 Against Cullman Monday, July 19th , 2032 The 5th time was not the charm for Patrick Barton today. The third baseman for the Cocoa Tigers hit the milestone today at Tomcats Ballpark, but it was the Cullman Cobras that salvaged a 9-8 victory. Barton finished with a 5-for-5 line at the plate, and it still wasn't enough. "He was not an easy out, that's for sure," Cullman manager Jim Wilson said to the press in the postgame interview. "I'm just glad we held everybody else in check and got the win." Barton declined to speak to reporters at length following the game, saying only that "no loss is a good one." Patrick Barton hit a solo-shot off Jonathan Harris in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and doubled in the 8th. So far this season Barton is batting .259 with 11 home runs, 39 RBIs and 49 runs scored. He has 86 hits in 332 at-bats, 25 walks and a .313 OBP. Barton has played in 83 games. View Boxscore |
