Wormgoor Raps Jefferson City for 5 Hits Friday, June 4th , 2032 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Neal Wormgoor today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Ballpark of San Antonio HS and paced the Trojans to a 13-4 win over the Jefferson City Jammers. After his dynamite batting performance, the Neilburg Composite first baseman told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. Neal Wormgoor singled in the 2nd, walked in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Freddie Chapa in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Arthur Smith in the 9th. To date, Wormgoor has collected 46 hits for a .289 average. He has posted 8 home runs, scored 23 runs and driven in 31 runs. View Boxscore |
