Harmon Belts 5 Hits
Friday, June 4th , 2032
After a 5-hit effort to lead Pope High School's 8-5 victory over the Yorktown Patriots, second baseman Carlton Harmon told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the National High School Federation-level is really something special."

The 15-year-old player earned his accolades today at Joe Nathan Field with a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Patriots.

"His swing is getting there," said Hounds skipper Corey Patterson, who spoke glowingly of Harmon after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Carlton did that to perfection today."

Carlton Harmon hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Javier López in the 9th.

Thus far this season in 46 games Harmon is batting .278 with 3 home runs, 20 RBIs and 15 runs scored. He has 37 hits in 133 at-bats.
