Héctor Gómez discovered that today at Detroit HS Fields, as he smashed three home runs during the 9-2 Torrey Pines Falcons win over the St. Xavier Tigers. "I got three balls to hit and nailed all three of them," the Torrey Pines first baseman said in his postgame interview. "The first was a hanging curve, the second was right down the middle and the last one was a good pitch, but I guessed right and put the wood to it." Gómez finished the day with 4 hits in 5 at-bats and 5 RBIs. Héctor Gómez hit a two-run home run off Stephen Ryan in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Youp Roelands in the 7th, hit a two-run home run off Enrique Sánchez in the 8th and flied out in the 9th. This year Gómez has hit 8 home runs and posted a .293 batting average. |
