Foust Belts Bunch of Base Hits Friday, August 26th , 2005 J.D. Foust really sizzled at the plate in his team's 10-3 win over the Birmingham Barons. The San Antonio right fielder blistered Birmingham for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. "Foust was too tough to get out today," the Barons skipper said in the postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too." J.D. Foust singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Nick McCurdy in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. This year, Foust has socked 87 hits in 405 at-bats for a .215 average with 7 home runs. He is getting on base at a .293 pace and his totals also include 26 RBIs and 40 runs scored. |
