Injury Takes Toll, Sacco van Rijn Out Thursday, September 25th , 2031 Playoff hopes of Pelicans player Sacco van Rijn have been dealt a blow today after tests revealed the closer suffered a torn rotator cuff throwing a pitch in today's game against North Gwinnett Ghostriders. van Rijn is expected to miss up to 10-11 months, effectively ruling him out of the playoffs. This season, in 12 relief appearances, van Rijn has rung up 10 saves. He has 50 strikeouts and 18 walks in 58.1 innings while registering a 3.39 ERA and a 2-2 won-lost record. Opposing teams have hit .262 against him. |
