Martin Cracks 5 Hits Friday, September 19th , 2031 The Blessed Trinity Black Bears stopped the Sullivan West Bulldogs by a score of 11-1 at AT&T Park today, with the lion's share of the credit going to center fielder Lou Martin. The 15-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits. "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Martin said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard." Martin did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Bulldogs. "Not much that I can say," offered Sullivan West manager David Lundquist. "He just hammered the heck out of us." Lou Martin hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Gyoo-jae Ho in the 4th, singled in the 5th, tripled in the 7th and singled in the 8th. Thus far this season Martin has hit .251 with 25 home runs, 63 RBIs and scored 71 times. View Boxscore |
