Espitia Goes Downtown 3 Times Against Jammers
Monday, August 30th , 2032
The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Jefferson City Jammers today.

Valley Central first baseman Ricardo Espitia tripled up on the home runs to propel the Vikings to the 6-3 win at Ballpark of San Antonio HS.

"We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Jefferson City manager Etibar Mkhargrdzeli said. "Espitia hit the heck out of the ball."

In addition to the homers, Espitia collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 3 RBIs and scored 3 runs.

"Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings."

Ricardo Espitia flied out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Graeme Comer in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Graeme Comer in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Patrick Gardner in the 8th.

So far this season Espitia is batting .303 with 42 home runs, 107 RBIs and 102 runs scored. He has 131 hits in 433 at-bats, 59 walks and a .399 OBP. Espitia has played in 123 games.
