Leones Manny Montoya to Miss Year Thursday, August 21st , 2031 Aurea E Quiles starting pitcher Manny Montoya could miss the remainder of the season because of a torn ulnar collateral ligament. He exited yesterday's Lincoln game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Montoya would be out 13-14 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that." Checking out his stats for the season, Montoya has registered 6 wins and 5 losses in 19 starts, posted a 2.87 ERA, and struck out 90 batters in 100.1 innings. |
