3-Homer Hat Trick for Lorent Friday, August 1st , 2031 Arjen Lorent brutalized the Pope High School Hounds pitching staff, launching three home runs in today's 12-6 victory at Blue Wings Ballpark. The Mountain Vista Golden Eagles first baseman was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day. "I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one." For the game, he went 3-for-5 with 6 RBIs and 4 runs scored. "Too much Arjen Lorent today," Hounds manager Corey Patterson said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to." Arjen Lorent hit a solo-shot off Calvin Martin in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Calvin Martin in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Paul Armstrong in the 6th, walked in the 8th and flied out in the 9th. This year Lorent has batted at a .237 pace with 79 hits, 21 home runs, 68 RBIs and scored 48 times. |
