Defenders Stop Lemaître at 24 Friday, August 1st , 2031 The 24-game hitting streak is over. Rio Americano Raiders third baseman Benjamin Lemaître failed to get a hit today against the Valley Christian Defenders and had his consecutive-game hitting streak broken. The 17-year-old went 0-for-4 in his club's 8-7 victory over the Defenders at John Smith Field. "I think I only made it to 24 games because I got lucky once or twice," he said. "So I guess I can't complain too much that I got unlucky and broke the streak." Lemaître is hitting .319 this year with 18 home runs and 65 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .401, 47 walks and scored 63 times. |
