DeSoto Central's van Beek Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits Thursday, July 3rd , 2031 It was high-fives all around for Emil van Beek at Jim Patterson Stadium today. He got them from his teammates and he got them at the plate during an outstanding hitting performance against the Cowetta Tigers. van Beek smashed 5 hits in 5 at-bats on his monster day, leading his club to a 13-3 win. "Emil was hitting everything," said Jaguars manager Jason Marquis. "It really was a special game for him." In the opposing dugout, Tigers manager Melvin Mora told BNN beat writers that van Beek "ambushed" the club. "Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but we'll have another chance," the skipper said. "Hopefully, van Beek oversleeps next time." Emil van Beek singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Yasuo Ito in the 7th. van Beek is currently hitting at a .287 pace with 8 home runs, 36 RBIs and has scored 37 times.
