Lane Hits 3 Homers Thursday, July 29th , 2032 Some days you can't have it all, as Long Beach State 49ers third baseman Keith Lane discovered when he cracked three homers against the Fresno State Bulldogs today, and still lost. "I have mixed emotions about this game," he said. "It's great to hit three homers, but it's hard to be happy when you lose the game." The 19-year-old got his name in the league record books, but the Bulldogs walked away with the 7-4 triumph at Pete Beiden Field. Lane finished the day with 3 hits in 4 at-bats and 4 RBIs. "I got three balls to hit and nailed all three of them," he said in the postgame interview.
