Bulldogs Stop Hobbs at 36
Wednesday, June 16th , 2032
The Fresno State Bulldogs did something to Bill Hobbs no team had done for the last 36 games -- they stopped him, ending his consecutive-game hitting streak. Unfortunately, they couldn't do the same to the Lumberjacks, who came away with the 7-6 victory at Pete Beiden Field.

"Hey, I knew it wasn't going to last forever," the 19-year-old center fielder said of the demise of his streak. "It was a good ride while it lasted."

This year Hobbs is hitting .377, produced 35 RBIs and 10 home runs, scored 39 times and gotten on base at a .429 rate.
