Hobbs Stretches Hit String to 31 Thursday, June 10th , 2032 Bill Hobbs, center fielder for the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks, ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 31 games with 1 hit in his club's 7-2 victory today over the Southern Illinois Salukis at Abe Martin Field today. "Not the outcome we wanted," Southern Illinois manager Ryan Klesko said. "There's never a good time to lose, and it's never fun to be on the wrong end of somebody else's accomplishment." Bill Hobbs flied out in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 7th. So far this year Hobbs is batting .372 with 9 home runs, 32 RBIs and 36 runs scored. |
