20-Game Hitting Streak for Pérez
Friday, July 9th , 2032
Cincinnati first baseman Luis Pérez is really on a roll. In today's game at CHS Field, Pérez came up with 3 hits in 3 at-bats and extended his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games. But meanwhile, the Oakwood Thunder were coming up winners on the scoreboard, topping the Reds by the score of 5-2.
"I've never been a big stats guy, and I've never gone home happy from a loss," Pérez said later. "So you can imagine how I'm feeling right now." Luis Pérez walked in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Tetsuya Miyake in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
Pérez is batting at a .323 pace this season, picking up 95 hits in 294 at-bats with 19 home runs, 69 RBIs and 50 runs scored.
