Streak Finally Over, Silva Held Hitless
Thursday, July 1st , 2032
Javier Silva saw his 23-game hitting streak wither and die today during the Saint John Fog win over Niagara Falls at LaBatt's Blue Park. The 21-year-old left fielder was held hitless in 5 at-bats by the Niagara Falls Falls, but his teammates produced enough offense to take the game, 9-5.

"Am I disappointed about the hit streak? Maybe, just a little bit," a seemingly upbeat Silva told reporters in the clubhouse. "But really, how could you be unhappy after you hit in 23 straight games? I'm just glad it lasted as long as it did. Life is good."

Silva is batting .303 this year with 10 home runs, 38 RBIs and 46 runs scored. He has 90 hits in 297 at-bats.
