Silva Stretches Hit String to 20 Wednesday, June 23rd , 2032 The Saint John Fog fell to the Eastsound Orcas in South End Stadium today, even as 21-year-old left fielder Javier Silva upped his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games. Silva finished with 1 hit in 4 at-bats, but could not stop the Fog from dropping the 9-1 decision. "Yeah, I kept my streak going, but it would have been better to come away with a win," said Silva. Javier Silva flied out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th. In his stats this season, Silva has posted a batting average of .307 with 86 hits in 280 at-bats, 10 home runs and 37 RBIs. He has also scored 46 runs, walked 16 times and compiled a .345 OBP. |
