Montaño Tags 3 HR Against Schooners Friday, June 11th , 2032 Danbury Mad Hatters catcher Armando Montaño slugged three home runs against the Atlantic Schooners at Jackie Robinson Park, but couldn't win the game all by himself. The Schooners spoiled his day by defeating the Mad Hatters, 5-4. "The loss puts a damper on the outstanding game Armando had, but people will be buzzing about this for days to come," Danbury manager Eric Milton. "That's gotta be some consolation to him. But knowing Armando, he would have preferred a win." For the game, Montaño was 3-for-3 with 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "The first two I got all of them and it was no doubt they were gone," Montaño said later. "It seemed like the wind helped it a little on that last one. I just wish Mother Nature had helped us win the game, too." Armando Montaño hit a solo-shot off Waldemar Reynoud in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Waldemar Reynoud in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Waldemar Reynoud in the 6th and walked in the 9th. Thus far this year Montaño is batting .319 with 5 home runs, 32 RBIs and 29 runs scored. |
