Medrano Hitless, Streak Ends at 20 Saturday, May 29th , 2032 Andrés Medrano saw his 20-game hitting streak wither and die today during the Biloxi Pelicans win over Niagara Falls at LaBatt's Blue Park. The 21-year-old center fielder was held hitless in 4 at-bats by the Niagara Falls Falls, but his teammates produced enough offense to take the game, 5-3. "Am I disappointed about the hit streak? Maybe, just a little bit," a seemingly upbeat Medrano told reporters in the clubhouse. "But really, how could you be unhappy after you hit in 20 straight games? I'm just glad it lasted as long as it did. Life is good." So far this year Medrano is batting .351 with 2 home runs, 32 RBIs and 33 runs scored. |
