Hitting Streak Still Alive for Roberts Wednesday, May 19th , 2032 Jon Roberts, first baseman for the Miami Towers, ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games with 4 hits in his club's 9-7 victory today over the Bristol Orcas at Cyclone Alley today. "Not the outcome we wanted," Bristol manager Mark Buehrle said. "There's never a good time to lose, and it's never fun to be on the wrong end of somebody else's accomplishment." Jon Roberts singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Yong-ho P'o in the 6th and singled in the 8th. Thus far this year Roberts is batting .329 with 5 home runs, 26 RBIs and 25 runs scored. |
