Sunday, October 19th , 2031
Ángel Mejía said he thinks hitters often underestimate him, as he's only 25 years old.

But he'll certainly be getting a lot more respect now, as the Montreal Polar Bears rising star has won the Meares League Reliever of the Year Award for 2031.

He captured the award on the strength of his 2.43 ERA over 63 innings. He also had 38 saves in 51 relief appearances, 58 strikeouts and only 28 walks.

He received 25 first place votes out of a possible 32. Quido Oosterman of the Boston Hangovers finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while Juan Martínez of the Lake Diefenbaker Chiefs finished third.
