IL Names Best Player Monday, July 4th , 2005 Casey Kotchman demonstrated his potential to be a star in the game last week and today he took home the International League Player of the Week Award. The Durham first baseman wreaked havoc on opposing pitchers last week, pounding them for a .500 average (9-for-18) with 2 home runs and 9 RBIs on his way to claiming the honor. For the year, Kotchman has hit at a .276 clip with 40 RBIs, 11 home runs and 42 runs scored. |
