Bisons End Melillo Streak
Wednesday, April 13th , 2005
It was a doubly miserable day for Kevin Melillo of the Durham Bulls, as he saw his 29-game hitting streak end and his team lose, 5-2, to the Buffalo Bisons at Dunn Tire Park. The 22-year-old first baseman was held hitless in 3 at-bats by the Bisons.

"Anyone on a 29-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Buffalo manager Danny Gomez said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done."

Melillo is hitting .326 this season with 7 home runs, 10 RBIs and 14 runs scored. He has 14 hits in 43 at-bats.
