Honey Butter Chicken Biscuits Halt Chapman's Hit Streak Friday, July 30th , 2032 It was the best of both worlds for the Corpus Christi Honey Butter Chicken Biscuits today at The Enforcer Grounds, as they defeated the South Side Enforcers 3-1 and also snapped Matt Chapman's 21-game hitting streak. The 30-year-old South Side third baseman failed to get a hit in 2 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Chapman, we just wanted to win the game," said Honey Butter Chicken Biscuits skipper Mike Weaver. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Chapman frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." So far this season Chapman is hitting .292 with 8 home runs, 44 RBIs and 48 runs scored. He has 78 hits in 267 at-bats and a .367 OBP. |
