Injury Sidelines José Berrera For Year Sunday, June 20th , 2032 The Puerto Rico Tropics were dealt a severe blow when José Berrera was hurt running the bases recently in a game against the Hartford Whalers. After the game, the team trainer reported Berrera might have to spend a lengthy time on the injured list. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 29-year-old catcher out for the rest of the season with a ruptured foot tendon. They indicated it would take Berrera at least 5 months to heal. So far this season Berrera is hitting .259 with 1 home run, 13 RBIs and 6 runs scored. He has 15 hits in 58 at-bats and a .306 OBP. |
